NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS

The Allegheny County Housing Authority hereby notifies all interested parties that the public bid solicitations and/or Requests for Proposals announced on this WEB SITE are for purposes of general awareness only and may be subject to change by the Housing Authority subsequent to this announcement.  Anyone interested in submitting a response to such a solicitation may request a formal copy of the bid proposal either by telephoning 412.402.2460 or by writing or visiting the Allegheny County Housing Authority located at 625 Stanwix Street, 12th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA  15222.

Any bid offered must be submitted on the Allegheny County Housing Authority official form of proposal that will include the latest revisions and applicable General and Special Terms, Conditions, Special Notes and other relevant bidding information for the solicitation involved.  The failure of a bidder to submit a bid that complies with such requirements may result in that bid being considered by the Housing Authority as non-responsive.

The Allegheny County Housing Authority encourages responses from small firms, minority firms and firms that have not previously performed work for the ACHA.

The ACHA's Section 3 Business and Economic Initiatives program provides training and employment opportunities for low-income public housing and/or Section 8 residents to become economically equipped.

NOTE: The Davis-Bacon Act does not apply to Equipment Surplus Sales. All contractor's are required to pay wage rates issued by the U.S. Department of Labor under the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts. The Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor determines prevailing wage rates to be paid on federally funded or assisted construction projects. The Allegheny County Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids or submissions or waive any informalities in the bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of at least sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of ACHA.

INVITATION FOR BIDS

DUCT CLEANING & SANITIZING

CONTRACT #ACHA-1313

The Allegheny County Housing Authority (ACHA) is requesting bids from qualified firms/individuals to perform work pertaining to Duct Cleaning & Sanitizing for ACHA-owned apartment buildings.

Bid Documents:
Contract Documents are on file and may be obtained from the Development Department of the Allegheny County Housing Authority, 625 Stanwix Street, 12th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA, 15222, or by contacting Dean Allen at
412-402-2469. A fee of $10 is required for each set of contract documents (non-refundable certified check or money order only).

Bidding Timeframe:
A PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Allegheny County Housing Authority Central Office, 625 Stanwix Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

BIDS ARE DUE by 11:00 AM EST, Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at the Allegheny County Housing Authority, Central Office, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
