RESIDENT SERVICES

Resident Services provides human and supportive services to residents of ACHA. Additionally, we provide technical assistance to Resident Councils and resident leaders in their community building activities.

FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY
This program encourages residents to go to work, go to school and to pursue options to increase independence from low-income public housing. There are two benefits to the program, including personal attention with trained case managers and escrow accounts. If a resident's rent increases due to earned income, ACHA will establish an escrow account, placing a portion of that rent into the account. Residents who complete their goals on the five year FSS Contract, graduating will receive the money from the escrow account.

PLEASANT RIDGE COMMUNITY SUPPORTIVE SERVICES
Program is part of HUD's HOPE VI initiative to ensure residents in HOPE VI communities have the necessary supportive services to achieve economic independence. Case managers work extensively with residents to become employed, access health and human services to achieve self-sufficiency.
This program is only available to Pleasant Ridge residents.

STRIDES TO SUCCESS
This program is only in selected public housing communities and high rise buildings. This program links residents with service coordinators in order to meet family's needs and to help seniors continue to live independently /age in place. Service Coordinators link residents to community resources to apply for benefits, health programming, work towards self-sufficiency and encourage participation in educational / job training programs.
